      Hi Olivia. Yes, most car companies build their cars using some kind of robot.

      Did you know, in the UK last year 2.7 Million new cars were sold. That’s 5 new cars every minute! Human’s just aren’t quick and strong enough to make cars that quickly.

      For high volume cars like Fords, BMWs, Vauxhalls etc. the cars will be made almost completely by robots. Humans might help to load a door onto the robot, but the robot will lift the door and fix it to the car in the right place.

      A handful of specialist car companies like to advertise their cars as ‘hand built’ so won’t use robots. This is much slower, so only works if you want to make a small number of cars. For example a very expensive limited edition sports car.
