• Question: how much does it cost for a project?

      It actually depends on the scale of the project. For example, I was on an European project for healthcare, which was funded by the EU. It was a really big project, we had 2 universities from UK, 2 universities from France, Kent Hospital University and a Hospital from France. This project costed £200,000,000 and we had to spend this amount in three years.

      That depends, some robots can cost £2million like the NASA robot we have at my work.

      Some robots can cost £20.

      There are many different types of robots all with very different prices.

      For a university project, the one I’m working on just now, I have a £300 budget so I will need to find a way to make it work for that price.

      But for the length of my whole PhD I have a £10000 budget to spend on project materials 🙂

      As others have said – the range varies widely. I do small-scale project for now and the current one probably costs me around £300. The next one will come closer to a £1,000.

      You may also be part of a bigger project, funded by, and completed throughout the UK, EU, or world-wide. Those projects tend to run into millions of pounds. For example, the Horizon 2020 project is a huge multi-million pound endeavour to improve many ways in which Europe currently operates, from robotics to medicine.
