I haven’t invented one myself, but you’d be surprised how many people work on this kind of thing! The field is called telepresence, and there is a lot of development going on. The ones that come to mind are Android, Geminoid and Telenoid by Hiroshi Ishiguro (http://www.geminoid.jp/en/robots.html).

I haven’t made one, but I did had a presentation about preventing bullying using robots and we came up with quite a few scenarios for this. I think this will partially answer your question.

Hi Padfoot, I haven’t made a robot that does that, but it sounds like a great idea.

We use something along the same lines at work. If a robot goes wrong, it can tell us humans what is wrong with it via a screen in our office over 100 miles away, so we can fix it straight away. That’s great because it means it a robot needs a spare part, it tells us and we can take the right part with us to the factory.

I have not, but I could if you would like.

But better still, why don’t you invent it? And we can help you 🙂
