It took me a long journey to realise who I wanted to be. I started with an interest in sciences in school, studied mathematics in the university, and towards the end of it decided it was worth doing something practical with that knowledge. Thus engineering, and specifically robotics came up.

I would say that I decided to be an engineer when I was 16. I always had an inclination towards maths, physics, and sciences in general. I was actually the top of my class. So for university I chose computer science.

During my master’s year, I went to meet with my supervisor, and my robot was in his office. I did not have to think twice. I knew that is what I want to do.

I always loved taking things apart to see how they worked. I was never as good at putting them back together though!

I grew up loving motorsport, especially F1. I thought it was amazing that you could have a job designing such incredible cars. From then onwards I always knew I wanted to work with cars.

Now I use robots to build all kinds of cars, it’s great seeing a car on the road that I know I helped to make.

I watched lots of TV programmes and films with cool robots in them, and I just thought I want to make those! My dad is also a software engineer and I always thought he was the coolest person in the world <3

But as I got older I started to do more fun projects with lego and meccano and I just had so much fun I thought I need to find a way to make this into a career 🙂

So now I study about and build robots for a living 🙂
