      Hi Julia,

What a great question – the short answer is both!

When I go and visit a customer for the first time I often go on my own for the first few visits. If it sounds like we can help the customer build their car, then I start to put a team together.

My job is to know a little bit about everything, so I can explain the basics. For the detail, I need help from a team of engineers that are experts in different areas. In our team we will have experts on timing, cost, robot programming and car design.

We all work together to design a factory for the customer. To make things easier I stay as the main contact for the customer and ask all the questions our team might have, for example, how much space is there in the factory, how many cars do you want to make.

I think it’s a bit like school – sometimes you have to work on your own but other times it’s good to work in a team where everyone can take on a specific role to suit what they are good at.

What do you think – do you prefer working alone or in a team?
